Cabinet Styles
Our Range of Cabinet Styles: From Classic to Contemporary
Framed Inset Cabinetry
Inset cabinets bring a classic and refined elegance to any space. The defining characteristic of this style is how the doors and drawers fit perfectly flush within the cabinet frame. This precise fit creates a clean, flat surface that exudes a traditional, high-end, and custom feel. The meticulous craftsmanship required for inset cabinets is readily apparent, showcasing a level of attention to detail that elevates the overall design.
The timeless appeal of inset cabinets is another significant advantage. They offer a sophisticated look that transcends fleeting trends, ensuring your cabinetry remains stylish for years to come. This enduring elegance can significantly enhance the ambiance of kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas of the home. However, it’s important to note that the intricate construction and precise fitting involved in creating inset cabinets typically make them a more expensive option compared to full overlay styles.
Full Overlay Frameless
Full overlay frameless cabinets, or European-style cabinets, offer a sleek, modern look by eliminating the face frame. Doors and drawers overlay the cabinet box, maximizing interior space and creating clean lines. This design is ideal for contemporary spaces seeking a minimalist aesthetic.
Their frameless construction, using thicker box sides for stability, allows for easy interior access. The emphasis on clean lines and functionality makes these cabinets a versatile choice for modern and transitional designs.
Durable and Elegant: Our Cabinet Material Choices
Material Details: What Goes Into Your Cabinets
The Strength of Solid Wood, The Stability of MDF
Our cabinet doors are crafted with solid wood framing, providing the classic beauty and structural integrity homeowners expect. This solid wood frame showcases the natural grain and character of the chosen wood species, adding a touch of elegance to any kitchen or bathroom. The core of the door panel is constructed from Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), an engineered wood product prized for its smooth, consistent surface and superior stability.
MDF’s unique properties make it an ideal choice for cabinet doors. Its smooth surface is perfect for painted finishes, ensuring a flawless, even coat without the grain inconsistencies that can sometimes occur with solid wood. In stain-grade applications, the solid wood frame beautifully displays the chosen wood’s natural beauty, while the MDF panel provides a stable core, minimizing the risk of panel movement or cracking over time. This combination of solid wood and MDF results in a durable, high-quality door that looks stunning whether painted or stained.

Cabinet Design Process
Step 1
Initial Consultation
I like to start off with a phone call to learn more about your project and see if we are a good fit.
Step 2
Bringing the Showroom to You
When you decide to move forward, I will bring door and samples to your home so that you can see all your options.
Step 3
Visualizing Your Dream Space:
2D Elevations
I will measure your space and take photographs so that I can put together a cohesive plan with 2D elevations for you to review. These will be emailed to you in PDF form and for that reason I do require a design fee up front which will then get applied towards the cost of your cabinetry once we go to contract.
Step 4
Finalizing the Design and Project
Once we have finalized the space, I can provide options and pricing as well as contractor quotes if needed. I work with several contractors which I can recommend if we are working together, or you are more than welcome to select your own contractor.
Step 5
The Finishing Touches: Completing Your Dream Space
Once we have the layout and cabinetry in order, I will help you select countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, hardware etc. I am happy to help as much or as little as you might need and I do extend a partial discount to my clients for any of my trade vendors.
Custom Cabinetry Design FAQs
How long will I be without a kitchen or bathroom for?
This completely depends upon the scope of the work. Are we moving major items like plumbing and electrical? Do we need to tile or refinish the floor? Are there walls coming out? All of these factors contribute to your timeline. The average small to medium bathroom is roughly 3-4 weeks while a larger bathroom will likely run 4-5 weeks or so. A kitchen renovation is often 5-8 weeks, with most of your “down time” being waiting for your countertops to be installed so that plumbing and backsplash can be installed. Most contractors will help you set up a temporary kitchen in a dining or adjacent room so that you can use your refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, etc. and if your project is during the warmer months, your grill is a great resource!
What is the timeline from our first meeting until the cabinets are ordered?
This really depends on how quickly you can make decisions! I often need 2-3 weeks from our initial meeting until the first round of drawings are complete. If there are minimal changes and/or if you are able to communicate any modifications in a timely manner, I likely can get your final drawings and contract out to you in a few days, and cabinets ordered shortly after that.
How long do the cabinets take to come in?
This can vary depending on time of year or changes to the economy but most custom cabinets are an 11-14 week delivery timeline. Sometimes a smaller order like a vanity can be pushed slightly quicker and delivered with another local order to save on time and delivery surcharges.
Are you involved in the entire process?
Yes! Unlike most contractors and some other designers, I like to be involved in the whole process. Some clients want me to select everything for them, some send me one or two options and ask for my opinion and others are really good at selecting the finishes and want minimal feedback. I’m happy to offer as little or as much hand holding as needed! Some clients like lots of options while others get overwhelmed and would prefer I narrow things down for them so that they don’t get overwhelmed. I’m happy to cater this process to each client’s individual wants and needs.
There are so many types of countertops to choose from. How will I know which is right for me?
I’m happy to walk you through the pros and cons of any and all countertops you may be considering. From man-made Quartz to Granite, Quartzites and Marbles and even Porcelain surfaces, there are beautiful options for everyone! It usually comes down to a few factors such as cost, maintenance, look, durability, and how you live.
Will you need to photograph my space?
It’s extremely helpful to my business if I am able to take photographs of my client’s projects once the work is completed. I normally will take the photos myself and bring any necessary items or props with me. The process takes an hour or so and i’m happy to share the photos with my clients! If you would not like your project to be photographed and/or shared, just let me know!
How can I leave you a review?
Please feel free to reach out to me for a direct link, but any Google or Facebook review that you can provide is greatly appreciated! A nice review is the highest compliment and helps my business more than you know!
